Frequently Asked Questions
We will do what we can on the day to accommodate anyone who leaves early or arrives later. Please let us know if this will apply to you – [email protected].
Yes, please still register for trials via https://netballtrials.com/clubs/ariels-vcna/ and email [email protected] to let us know. Include as much detail about the player’s netball experience if they are not a current Ariels player so selectors can make the most informed decision. If you have recent video footage of them playing that will also be helpful.

Ariels representative teams from 13&U to VNL Development play in the Waverley Netball Centre competitions from Monday-Thursday nights. 11&U teams are tournament only teams who play at various tournaments throughout the year and have the opportunity to play in the Spring season at Waverley.
Our two main training locations are Maroondah Nets (154 Heathmont Road, Heathmont 3135) & Yarra Valley Grammar (Sports Complex, entry off Plymouth Road only). All representative teams train on Sunday whereas VNL Development teams will train Sunday OR Monday depending on the team.
Strength and conditioning training is compulsory for all VNL Development program athletes as well as 15&U/1 & 15&U/2 teams. Remaining 15&U teams, 17&U teams and Open teams are strongly encouraged to attend. All S&C sessions are run by a qualified instructor/s.
Yes, we have set up and our Committee moderate a private Facebook group. Postings are made by current and previous members looking to part with unused and unneeded uniform. Any sales are agreed to by the individuals, Ariels will only assist in mediating any issues that may arise. You must agree to the group rules before being accepted to the group.
Most of the time this is due to the positions you have given us. We generally get a lot of mid court athletes and less defenders meaning the defenders will be needed more often to get all the mid court athletes seen. We aim to get all athletes on court at least twice and we will announce the point where we believe all players should have been on at least 2 times, at this point you should then let Ariels organisers know that you haven’t been on.
Selected players will get to meet their teammates and coach/es at our information session which follows the AGM. We select as squads at first as there are always changes throughout the acceptance process which can have a huge difference on teams.
