Coaching is a great way of being involved in the game you love. There are a number of coaching opportunities with Ariels VCNA including: NetSetGo, Club teams, independent teams and Ariels VCNA Representative Teams.
Ariels VCNA highly recommends that all community coaches hold at least a Foundation Coach accreditation. Holding Foundation Coaching accreditation is mandatory for our Ariels VCNA Junior Coaching Program. To coach at Representative Level at a minimum coaches need to hold Development Coaching accreditation.
Coaching Pathways:
Code of Conduct
All coaches at Ariels VCNA games need to agree to the Netball Victoria Coaches Code of Behaviour. A form will be published ahead of club competitions for coaches to complete by the end of grading rounds.
Child Safety
Working with Children Check:
Coaches over the age of 18 need to have a valid Working with Children Check.
Victorian Government:
The Victorian Government Child Safe Standards applies to all sporting organisations that operate and provide sporting services to children within Victoria.
Netball Victoria:
Netball Victoria provides a range of material that can be viewed in the Child Safeguarding Resources Hub.
Ariels VCNA Junior Coaching Program
This program is specifically aimed at budding coaches aged 13 years and older who’d like to learn coaching skills within our NetSetGo program under the guidance of experienced coaches before moving into coaching their own team. With an emphasis on building leadership and communication skills, Ariels VCNA will provide training and feedback to help you start your coaching journey.
