ABOUT US

Ariels was formed as Victorian Churches Netball Association in 1930 and is one of the oldest netball associations in Australia. Over the past nine decades the club has continued to grow and promote the sport of netball, particularly in Melbourne’s eastern region.

The association is committed to providing support and opportunities to players, recognising and nurturing leadership and good sportsmanship and offering a pathway to higher levels of competition to allow players, coaches and umpires to reach their full potential.

Ariels VCNA – Vision, Philosophy and Values

Vision – For our players, coaches and umpires to reach their full potential within our netball program

Philosophy – To provide as many players as possible the chance to play representative and VNL netball and develop to their highest potential, and provide a pathway for elite athletes.

In 2008 the club was successful in gaining one of 10 licences statewide for the newly formed elite Victorian Netball League competition. The club was restructured to provide opportunities for other local associations to join our pathway. In 2018 we were successful in renewing our licence for a further 5 years.

Our structure consists of:

Ariels VCNA is different to many representative associations in that we deliberately cast our net wide and have as many teams as possible to give the maximum number of players the opportunity to play representative netball.
